Personal milestone for popular driver
ALMOST a decade after registering a driving milestone, popular reinsman Jason Lee has notched another.
Rarely away from the winners' circle at his home track in Terang, Lee recorded a personal best when he won five races at the provincial track on February 11, 2015.
A still wet-behind-the ears concession driver, Lee was triumphant behind Ruthless And More, Clark Griswold, Justa Dream Lombo, Keayang Starzzz and Keayang On Fire.
Fast forward to last night's program and Lee has gone one better by capturing six of the eight races.
In doing so, Lee became just the 10th to complete a sextet at a Victorian meeting, joining Chris Alford, Shayne Cramp, Daryl Douglas, Gavin Lang, Kerryn Manning, Ian McCallum, Robert Orr, Andrew Peace and Mark Pitt.
Orr was the first to achieve the feat, with six wins and four placings in Flemington on April 16, 1864!
Jack Laugher holds the state record thanks to his seven victories in Mildura on July 15, 2022.
As for Lee, his haul came via Wisp Of Smoke, Keayang Tweetybird, Notnegotiable, Quiet Storm, Imperial Monarch and Jilliby Illuminate.
