Personal milestone for popular horsewoman
LEADING horsewoman Samantha Hill registered a personal highlight at Globe Derby yesterday.
One of South Australia's most popular participants, Hill notched her first training treble since obtaining her licence in 2022.
Having also driven the trio, Hill is naturally "super thrilled" with the result.
"I gave each a good chance and wouldn't have been surprised if any of them won, but I never expected to get a treble," Hill said. "I was happy after the first win, then thought 'this is alright' after the second.
"I was super thrilled to get a third. It made for a great day."
Alleyes kick-started proceedings for Hill by racing outside the leader before proving too strong for Vinaigrette and Majestic Paris.
Owned by Hill's father, Scott Pascoe, the daughter of Peak Dnk rated 2:03.7 over 1800 metres.
Twixten then gave Hill a trotting double by leading throughout to account for Ima Destroyer and Brookies Babe in 2:02.5 for the 2230-metre trip.
Stereophonic rounded out Hill's milestone when he scored from Roscos Rescue and Martys Party.
Recording her best season with 28 wins in 2024, Hill's goal is to "go one better each season".
"I don't really have any big aims and just hope to go one better each season," Hill said. "If I can keep doing that I will be pretty happy.
"I've got seven in on Saturday night, which is the most I have ever taken to the races, so hopefully there is a winner, or even two, there."
