Plenty on offer
THE final Sale of the five state auctions conducted by APG this year will take place on Sunday at the Magic Millions Complex at Morphettville in Adelaide.
The Sale commences at 1pm with the first of 29 Lots to be offered - eight Colts and 21 Fillies. The catalogue has been boosted with the addition of two yearlings from long time APG vendor, Ashdon Valley Racing.
These additional yearlings are: Lot 529 - Filly by A Rocknroll Dance from Ruthless Bay; Lot 530 - Filly by Bettors Wish from Big Girl Grin.
Lot 529 will be offered for auction as the first yearling to enter the sales ring, prior to Lot 501. Lot 530 will be the last yearling offered.
Potential buyers have a feast of racing opportunities after bidding up on Sunday afternoon.
The race series has been tweaked since the printing of the catalogue, with the limited number of colts in the sale. Between APG and HRSA they have opened up the Final in Adelaide.
Fillies will still have their own $20,000 Final and the other Final will become a Mixed Sex Final. With the exception that the winning Filly of the Fillies' Final won’t be eligible for the Mixed $20,000 Final.
In doing so as two-year-olds in 2026 these 29 yearlings are eligible for the following races.
Gold Bullion Adelaide Mixed Final of $20,000 - open to any sustained colt and filly; Gold Bullion Adelaide Final of $20,000 fillies only - 21 fillies eligible if sustained; Gold Bullion Port Pirie Final of $15,000 mixed sex for sustained horses - the winner of either of the two Adelaide Finals are ineligible for this race - Gold Bullion Mount Gambier Final of $15,000, Mixed sex for sustained horses. The winners of the Adelaide and Port Pirie races are ineligible for this race.
Three-year-old Finals will be conducted in the 2027 for $10,000 in Adelaide and $5000 in Port Pirie and Mount Gambier.
In addition, buyers of these 29 yearlings can also choose to make them eligible for the Victorian APG Race Series of $100,000 Finals for each sex as two-year-olds and $50,000 Finals for each sex as three-year-olds.
The sustaining fees for the Victorian series can be found in the printed catalogue as well as the terms and conditions page online.
The quality runs deep through the catalogue right to the last yearling, with progeny from top stallions like Always B Miki, Major Secret, Poster Boy and Stay Hungry.
The first season sire Century Farroh is represented with two nicely-bred fillies, Lot 514 and Lot 522.
Century Farroh, a Canadian bred son of Mach Three, won $1.55million in a four-season career.
He was Voted the Canadian Three-Year-Old Colt of The Year and followed up a year later being Voted Canadian Harness Horse of the Year, in a season which saw him take on North America’s best aged pacers and along the way collected a Breeders Crown Trophy defeating Bettors Wish.
