PROMINENT horseman Tyson Linke extracted the revenge he sought during the weekend.

Runner-up in last season's Emerging Stars Final with handy mare Quick Dip, Linke returned for last Saturday night's edition with promising filly Sea Salt.

To Linke's delight, Sea Salt proved too good in the $25,000 Globe Derby-based feature.

"We were only beaten a whisker last year and I had this race in mind again hoping to go one better," Linke said. "I'm really happy that we were able to do just that.

"I've got a fair opinion of this filly and felt she was perfect for the series."

Driven by Dani Hill, Sea Salt found the lead from barrier four before Places You Dont forged his way to the front from gate five.

Enjoying the run of the race behind the pacemaker, Sea Salt dashed along the sprint lane to score by two metres from Places You Dont.

After working hard in the 'death seat' Imposter Boy batted on gamely to be three metres away third.

"She got a great run and was able to make the most of it," Linke said. "This filly has a stack of ability, but whether he fulfils that potential we will have to wait and see.

"We've got the Oaks and Southern Cross later in the year set out for her, but I'm not sure how long she will remain in SA as she may also find herself in Victoria.

"If she is going over we have to make a decision soon."

Bred and owned by Linke's sister, Tara-Shae, the daughter of Downbytheseaside rated 1:57.9 over 1800 metres to take her record to three wins and a second from four starts.
