MILDURA is becoming a happy hunting ground for handy pacer Maxy Wants To Play.

The Aaron Dunn-trained gelding has made the trip to the Sunraysia District three times during his last 10 starts for three wins, including last night.

Maxy Wants To Play's other seven outings have failed to net a placing!

"He's been loving Mildura," Dunn said. "In his defence, he hasn't had much luck in his runs in Melton, plus the quality in Mildura is not as tough.

"He thrives on being out in front and rolling along in Mildura, so I may have to get him up there more often."

Driven by Ryan Backhouse, Maxy Wants To Play led throughout from barrier five to score by 10 metres from Cemetery Bay, with My Ultimate Billy a head away third.

"I said I'll have to bring him up to Mildura more, but I'm not sure what I'll do with him next," Dunn said. "Just keep trying to find the right races and go from there."

Rating 1:57.3 over 1790 metres, Maxy Wants To Play provided Dunn with the second leg of a running double following Eyesealittle's debut success.

With Dunn in the cart, the filly travelled midfield before completing a four-and-a-half metre win from Destiny Kept.

Noels Gift was four metres away third in 2:00.4 over 2190 metres.

"I was pretty happy with the way she went," Dunn said. "She's certainly started her career on the right hoof.

"I'll just keep her ticking along at home now and set her for a Vicbred heat in a fortnight."
