QUALITY pacer Captains Knock will continue his quest for a $1million bonus this week.

Harness Racing New South Wales is offering the mouth-watering funds for any pacer which completes a clean sweep of five country features.

The governing body is also offering a $500,000 bonus for four wins and $250,000 for three.

Earlier this year, Swayzee secured $500,000 for connections by winning four of the five features during 'Season 2' of the Carnival of Cups.

By capturing The Bidgee at the Riverina Paceway three weeks ago, Captains Knock is the only pacer in the southern hemisphere eligible to collect the $1million.

That leads to Friday night's The Steel City Cup in Newcastle, where the Brad Hewitt-trained stallion has drawn the widest in a field of seven.

"I'm not concerned about the draw," Hewitt said. "Sure it would be nice to be closer to the pegs, but it's not a big deal.

"He's the quickest beginner in the race and I will be driving him aggressively.

"One thing about a small field is no matter where you settle, you're never far off the speed, but I'll be going forward nonetheless.

"I'd say Max Delight is the main danger from five, but every runner in the race has earned its spot and has to be respected.

"All I can say is I'm confident with my bloke and will be driving him as such."

HOOFNOTE: Bathurst is scheduled to host the next feature on January 30, followed by Albury on February 13, before Penrith rounds out the $1million dream on March 20.
