Ready to break maiden

Ready to break maiden
Mary and Joe Rando

CONNECTIONS of consistent trotter Addictive Stride are mildly confident he can finally break his maiden.

Responsible for several eye-catching performances, Addictive Stride is yet to register his first win from nine starts for prominent couple Mary and Joe Rando.

The duo, who are rarely away from the winners' circle, hope the son of Amore Stride can rectify the situation, however, when he heads back to Club Menangle tomorrow.

Addictive Stride went close when runner-up four starts ago, but has been luckless during his three subsequent outings, which have netted a fifth and two fourths.

"He's no star, but he tries his heart out," Joe said. "We've got no doubt he will win his races...he just needs to wait his turn for things to go his way.

"With a bit of luck, that will be the case tomorrow."

To be driven by Blake Fitzpatrick, Addictive Stride has drawn to settle in a favourable position from barrier four over 2300 metres.

"He gets his chance from there," Joe said. "He's been working as well as ever and goes into this feeling as good as he can be."

The Randos will also be represented by Impact Stride and Salute Stride in the following race.

Each boasting recent wins, the stablemates are again among the leading contenders.

Also drawn four, Impact Stride will be partnered by Cameron  Fitzpatrick, with Cam Hart to take the reins behind Salute Stride from barrier six.

"There isn't a lot between them," Joe said. "They will both be hard to beat.

"It is a pretty even field over all, so it will come down to how the race is run."
