Ready to repeat remarkable feat
PREMIER Victorian trainer Emma Stewart will attempt to repeat one of her remarkable feats when she returns to Club Menangle this weekend.
Last month Stewart made the trip across the Murray to complete a clean sweep of the New South Wales Derby heats before capturing the Final with the undefeated Always Hot.
Stewart's dominance of the heats also saw her notch a pair of quinellas.
On Saturday night, Stewart will tackle the New South Wales Oaks qualifiers, where she once again has strong representation.
Although her numbers are down compared to the Derby, Stewart's fillies are the favourites in each heat.
To be driven by Jackie Barker, boom youngster Iveseenheavenslight is a $1.30 TAB Fixed Odds hot shot after drawing four in the opening heat.
Unbeaten from two starts this season, the daughter of Bettors Delight slots into three with the removal of the emergency.
Iveseenheavenslight is from former top mare Heavens Trend, which was successful at Group One level at Club Menangle.
Stewart then has Ill Be Gone in the second qualifier, with the three-year-old to begin from gate three.
Among the placegetters behind Iveseenheavenslight during her last two starts, Ill Be Gone is a $1.95 TAB Fixed Odds favourite to return to the winners' circle.
Beach Diamond and Let Her Roll will then fly the stable flag in the third heat, with the former faring better in barrier three.
Despite drawing wide in gate 10, Let Her Roll heads the market at $1.95, with Beach Diamond on the third line of betting at $4.
Cool And Classy splits the pair at $3.60 from gate two.
Winner of seven of her eight starts last season, Cool And Classy has been runner-up during her two outings this term for champion Queensland horseman Grant Dixon.
