TIMMY RICTOR

COMEBACK pacer Timmy Rictor has clearly kick-started his career from where it prematurely halted.

Proving himself to be among the best of his crop as a two-year-old, Timmy Rictor won five of his six starts for record-breaking horsewoman Emma Stewart, with his victories including the 2023 Australasian Breeders' Crown.

The colt's only defeat was a second in the Bathurst Gold Crown.

Sidelined through injury, Timmy Rictor spent 15 months in the wilderness before returning with a winning trial at Club Menangle for new trainer Jason Grimson.

Scoring at his first race appearance on March 14, the son of Modern Art repeated the dose to capture last night's Autumn Gift Final at Menangle.

With Jack Callaghan in the cart, the four-year-old completed a soft three-metre win from No Heart Throb.

Diamond Eclipse was four-and-a-half metres away third as the winner covered the mile in 1:49.2.

Impressed with the performances, Grimson is likely to aim Timmy Rictor at Queensland's rich Winter Carnival, including $300,000 The Rising Sun on July 5.

Timmy Rictor's long term goal is the $2.1million The Eureka at Club Menangle on September 6.
