Short break ahead of another interstate trip
A SHORT stay at home, then another interstate trip.
That's what awaits Blazing Home following his Four-Year-Old Championship success at Albion Park last night.
Rounding out his Queensland campaign on a perfect note, Blazing Home will return to trainer Jarrod Alchin's New South Wales stable before being sent south for another feature target.
Alchin has set his sights on the rich Vicbred Super Series with the son of Rock N Roll Heaven, with heats scheduled to be run in Melton on August 30.
In between Blazing Home will enjoy "a few easy days" and possibly have a "soft trial" before crossing the Murray.
"It was great to see him come away with the win," Alchin said. "He had no luck in his fist two starts up here and was bursting to score.
"He finally got his chance with a clear run last night and showed what he can do.
"I'll take him home now where he will have a few easy days before I wind him up again for the Vicbred.
"He won't race between now and the heats, but I might give him a soft trial before we take off."
With Will Rixon in the cart, Blazing Home was settled two-back along the pegs from his inside of the second row draw as Wisper A Secret worked to the lead from barrier four.
Angled into the clear to be three-wide leaving the back straight, the gelding sprinted to a five-and-a-half metre win from Always Smokin.
Free Thinker was two-and-a-half metres away third in 1:52.2 over 2138 metres.
