Should have made him sleep on the couch!
REVENGE was extracted in Shepparton last night.
Beaten by his wife, Laura, when attempting to register a personal milestone last month, Damian Wilson reversed the tables during the couple's latest clash.
Wilson was sitting on 999 wins when Laura relegated him to second by reining Hadtobeharry to victory over Creatable.
Although he reached 1000 wins the following week, Wilson waited until last night to 'one up the Mrs' by driving Hadtobeharry to beat the Laura-driven Creatable.
To top off the retribution, Wilson landed a double when he guided Byrneside Boom to glory in the following event.
Though Laura completed a trip to the winners' circle as the trainer of Hadtobeharry and Creatable, Wilson also prepares Byrneside Boom, giving him greater bragging ammunition!
"I probably should have made him sleep on the couch for showing me up, but after what I did to him when he was on 999 wins, it was best to let it slide," Laura joked.
"When it comes to Harry, I don't care who drives him, it is just terrific to see him win after what he has been through."
Discovering Hadtobeharry was lame as a three-year-old in 2021, Laura was "heartbroken" to hear the son of Majestic Son was unlikely to race again.
After spending almost two years on the sidelines, Hadtobeharry not only returned to the track, he won his first two starts back!
"He developed a lump in the area they would normally get greasy heel which turned out to be a suspensory-type injury," Laura explained. "We were told it is quite common in gallopers and he would never race again.
"But we never gave up on him and just gave him plenty of time off before trying again and he has been as sound as a bell since.
"Every win with him now is special and a bonus."
As for his latest performance, Hadtobeharry rated 2:04.4 over 2190 metres to score by four-and-a-half metres, with Sunsup a half-head away third.
