"Something I will never forget"
TODAY'S trip to Maryborough has developed into an experience Annalise Scott "will never forget".
Making the trek to the provincial circuit for three drives, Scott headed home with a treble.
Not only is it the first time Scott has achieved the feat, it doubled her win tally since making her debut in June.
"I'm pretty rapt," Scott said. "I'd won three races all up before today so to win three at a meeting is something I will never forget.
"I knew I was driving some nice ones and was confident with them, but you still don't expect things to turn out the way they did."
Scott opened the card on a high by scoring with the Xavier O'Connor-trained Quiet Storm, which rated 2:02 over 2190 metres as All Saints Beach and Yering Rose filled the placings.
The concession reinswoman then registered her maiden double thanks to Kelvin Barker-prepared Smooth Techy, which accounted for Rocks Can Roll and Miss Moraine in 2:00.1.
Scott then joined forces with her boss, Chris Svanosio, to complete the treble behind Rueslan, which rated 1:58.7.
Joining Svanosio's staff in 2020, Scott progressed to fast work before her friend, Taylah French, suggested she give racing "a go".
"I have always been around horses as my Mum had them, and I was involved in Pony Club, but I hadn't worked with standardbreds before," Scott said.
"I was working at a dressage stable before I started working for Chris, which is the first time I'd worked in a harness stable.
"Chris eventually let me fast work some, which I enjoyed, and Tay said I 'should have a go', so I ended up doing it and got my licence.
"I really enjoy driving and it would be nice if I can keep it going."
