Star back in action
FRESH from collecting a whopping bonus three weeks ago, star pacer Swayzee will return to Club Menangle tomorrow night.
Thanks to his success in Penrith's Renshaw Cup, Swayzee earned connections an extra $500,000 on top of the stakes he bankrolled during New South Wales' country cups circuit.
In what can only be described as a phenomenal promotion, Harness Racing New South Wales offered a mouth-watering $1million bonus to any pacer which completed a clean sweep of the Carnival of Cups series.
There is also a $500,000 bonus for any pacer which wins four and a $250,000 bonus for three wins.
Swayzee secured the bottom amount by capturing the first three legs of the series, but missed a clean sweep when runner-up behind Captain Hammerhead in Albury.
The Jason Grimson-trained gelding bounced back to score in Penrith.
As for his pending assignment, Swayzee will contest the Joe and Michael Ilsley Free-For-All over 2300 metres.
Drawn to find the front from barrier two, the son of Rock N Roll Heaven is a prohibitive $1.10 TAB FIxed Odds favourite.
Veteran gelding Max Delight is considered the main danger and the only other runner under double figures at $6.50 from gate three.
A winner at Menangle on February 15, Max Delight was a last start fifth in the $1million Miracle Mile on March 8.
Prepared by champion horseman David Aiken, Max Delight was victorious in a trial around the world class venue last week where he covered the mile in 1:52.3.
