Superstar back in action
SUPERSTAR Leap To Fame will make his highly-anticipated return at Albion Park tonight.
The five-year-old hasn't raced since his scintillating record-equalling Miracle Mile success at Club Menangle on March 9.
By capturing the $1million Garrards-sponsored major, Leap To Fame became just the third pacer to win Australia's 'Big Three' - A G Hunter Cup, Inter Dominion and Miracle Mile since the latter was introduced in 1967.
Leap To Fame's moment of triumph saw him join Preux Chevalier, which won the 1985 Inter Dominion and Hunter Cup at Moonee Valley and the Miracle Mile at Harold Park, and Village Kid, which secured the trio in 1986.
Having "thrived" during his well-earned break, Leap To Fame will tackle eight rivals over 1660 metres.
One hiccup for the Grant Dixon-trained son of Bettors Delight is the barrier draw, with Leap To Fame to begin from the inside of the second row.
Chasing his 12th consecutive win, Leap To Fame's previous defeat was from the same draw over the same distance last November, however, Dixon isn't concerned.
TAB Fixed Odds also have faith in the stallion, which is a $1.35 favourite.
"I'm not all that worried," Dixon said. "It can make things tricky, but his work and trial suggest he is going well enough to overcome that.
"Given it is over the sprint it is not ideal to have to go back at the start, so I'll be hoping for some room to get away from the pegs early."
