Three Derbys in three weeks!

CHAMPION horsewoman Emma Stewart is poised to continue her incredible Derby dominance this weekend.

With her sole representative - Kingman - the raging favourite in Tasmania's Blue Riband, Stewart is aiming for her third Derby in three weeks!

Earlier this month Stewart not only captured the Victoria Derby with Best Deal, she prepared the first four across the finish in the Group One.

Last weekend Stewart secured the South Australia Derby with Meteor Moth to claim her 14th state Derby during the past decade.

Stewart's haul breaks down to three in New South Wales, one in Queensland, four in Victoria, four in South Australia and two in Tasmania.

The record-breaking trainer's Tassie victories include last season's edition with Celebrity Royal.

"We traditionally have a strong team of young horses, so races like the Derbys are what we aim for," Stewart said. "To enjoy the success we have in those races is amazing and particularly satisfying for our owners."

Drawn barrier five, Kingman will be driven by Allan McDonough, who is also no strange to winning the Apple Isles' classic.

Along with partnering Celebrity Royal, McDonough trained Im Mark Antony to win the 2008 edition.

As she has on numerous occasions, Stewart is also aiming for a Derby/Oaks double, with three runners in the latter feature, which has only attracted five starters.

Unbeaten from eight starts since joining Stewart's team, Waterfront is a $1.10 favourite from the pole, with her stablemates, Freeasabyrd and Free To Play, on the second and third lines of betting.

"Waterfront hasn't set a hoof wrong since she got her and I can't see any reason why that should change on Saturday night," Stewart said. "That said, if she performs anywhere below her best, our other two will let her know."
