Trainer's property firebombed a second time
FOR the second time in three weeks, well-known trainer Lane Johnson's property has been targeted by criminals.
Last month Johnson and his family were woken by a loud noise towards the front of their land where they found the front gate ablaze.
Police and firefighters were promptly dispatched to the scene where it was discovered fire bombs, commonly-known as molotov cocktails, had been thrown towards the house.
Via his Facebook page, Johnson stated he believes the incident is a harness racing related attack.
"Tonight's events were a sobering reminder of the destructive behavior that still exists in our industry," Johnson wrote. "We were targeted with petrol bombs, but fortunately, no one was injured."

Johnson's property was again the scene of an arson attack, with a molotov cocktail thrown into one of the family's vehicles.
This time the fire damage was a lot closer to Johnson's house.
Johnson again utilised social media to issue a statement.
"Regrettably, we have fallen victim to another arson attack, this time resulting in the destruction of Lane's vehicle," Johnson wrote. "We are certain the perpetrator is someone within our industry and we urge them to reflect on their actions."
Revealing the law enforcement forensic squad is conducting an investigation, Johnson encouraged the perpetrators to "seek help".
"The swift response from police and firefighters was greatly appreciated," Johnson commented. "Forensic investigations are ongoing.
"I hope this incident prompts those responsible to seek help and adopt a more positive outlook."
