Undefeated colt heading interstate
LOOK out New South Wales...undefeated youngster Always Hot is heading your way.
Winner of his four starts last season, Always Hot was sent for a well-earned break following his Group One Vicbred Super Series triumph last September.
Making his racing return in Melton just moments ago, the son of Always B Miki stretched his perfect record to five by capturing the Caduceus Classic.
Naturally impressed with Always Hot's performance, trainer Emma Stewart revealed the colt is destined to head across the Murray.
While the New South Wales Derby is the main objective, the three-year-old may cross the border sooner.
The Derby is scheduled to be conducted at Club Menangle on March 8 as part of the phenomenal Miracle Mile card.
"We're definitely aiming him at the Derby," Stewart said. "That's still about six weeks away though.
"He may even head up earlier as there is a $50,000 race up there in two weeks."
Driven by Greg Sugars during his latest triumph, Always Hot travelled outside the lead, Forty Love, before bullocking his way to a six-and-a-half metre win from the pacemaker.
Soho The Real Deal was eight metres away third as the winner rated a brilliant 1:50.9 over 1720 metres.
