Undefeated youngster to extend perfect record
UNDEFEATED youngster Gladiatrix is expected to have no trouble extending her perfect record when she heads to Club Menangle tomorrow.
Prepared by prominent couple Dean and Kerry McDowell, Gladiatrix has proven too good during her three starts, winning with an average margin of six metres!
Each of the filly's victories have been at Club Menangle, including a pair of Foundation Heats, with her pending appearance in another of the series' qualifiers.
Gladiatrix is a half-sister to Maximus Meridius, which captured the 2023 Foundation Final for the McDowells.
Gladiatrix's sire, Elite Stride, won the Three-Year-Old Foundation Final in 2020.
"She has strong family ties to the Foundation series, so hopefully that continues into this heat and the Final," Dean said. "She has shown potential from the get go and so far hasn't set a hoof wrong at the races.
"We are more than happy with the way she has been going, particularly the way she has improved after each start."
To be driven by concession reinsman Lleyton Green, Gladiatrix has drawn to search for the lead from barrier four.
A last start heat winner, Cee Cee In Paris is considered the main danger from gate two, with Aldebaran Tucker the interesting factor from three.
Scoring by 30 metres in Bendigo upon debut, Aldebaran Tucker was then third before being sent for a spell.
Transferred to Anton Golino during the interim, Aldebaran Tucker will be first-up since March 19.
The daughter of Helpisontheway won a trial in slow time in Penrith last week.
Later on the card the McDowells will also be represented by in-form pacer Stagecoach.
Successful at his last three starts, Stagecoach faces a tough task from barrier eight against an even field.
