Wasting no time finding winners' circle
CONCESSION reinswoman Jasmine Dimovski has wasted little time finding the winners' circle.
Obtaining her 'racing license' in late August, Dimovski scored at Globe Derby last night in what was just her second drive.
Dimovski finished fifth on debut on September 9.
"I finished trialling not long ago and had my first drive in September," Dimovski said. "To win last night was amazing...a real rush.
"After he hit the front the jitters really got in and I was worried of being beaten, but am so glad he held on."
Partnering $51 outsider Rocknroll Spirit, Dimovski settled the son of A Rocknroll Dance midfield in the running line as his stablemate, Bitofdutchcourage, led from barrier three.
Angled three-wide leaving the back straight, Rocknroll Spirit sustained a strong sprint to score by a metre-and-a-half from Wattosblazeofglory, with Tonkawaikon a head away third.
"I felt he was in a good position to run a placing down the back," Dimovski said. "When I passed Wayne (Hill, Big Black Betty) I felt like he had it won, but was waiting for the line to come."
Prepared by South Australia's new training sensation Ella Brechin, Rocknroll Spirit rated 1:56.8 over 1800 metres.
Also a newcomer among the training ranks, Brechin has already notched five wins, including a treble at the same venue last weekend.
