MISS OHANA

WHEN evaluating her prospects at Club Menangle on Saturday night, Courtney Laker made one keen observation..."we definitely got the visitors' draws!"

Laker will make the journey across the border with two members of her Victorian stable, with each drawn poorly.

Curly James will begin from barrier 10 in the fifth event, while Miss Ohana received gate seven in the $50,000 New South Wales Three-Year-Old Trot Final.

"We definitely got the visitors' draws!" Laker said. "I don't think it could be much worse as far as starting positions go.

"No doubt it has made life harder for them, but I still believe they are winnable races.

"Curly's will come down to how the race is run. We'll be driving him with a sit and sprinting home, but how that works out we will have to wait and see.

"I still consider Miss Ohana as the one to beat."

TAB Fixed Odds agree with Laker's assessment, with Miss Ohana a $1.35 favourite.

A last-start winner of the Foundation Final at the world class venue, Miss Ohana will be driven by Bailey McDonough.

"She can get keen and worked up, so I hope she stays relaxed and races at her best," Laker said. "San Juan Mountain, which has drawn directly inside her, is the biggest threat.

"As long as she puts in her best, I think she has them covered."
