Winners' circle feels like home for Dorothy
IN-FORM pacer Dorothy’s Legacy powered to the point before the quarter and rolled home without a serious challenge in a career-best 1:52.2 in last night’s co-feature at The Meadows.
Once on the lead for Tony Hall, the daughter of Art Major easily rebuffed the first-up challenge of her stablemate, Circle The Page, and drew off late, defeating early leader Amelia’s Courage by a length.
Windsun Juno completed the ticket.
John Sullivan trains Doorothy’s Legacy, which lifted her bankroll to $110,282 for own Greg Usner.
On the topic of lifetime marks, DP Rocket matched her best clocking of 1:55.1 in the companion feature, a $10,300 Conditioned Trot, widening late to down Tamar by two lengths, with Roundtown Rocker third.
Mike Wilder piloted the daughter of All In Tad, which boasts earnings of $127,246, for trainer Tyler Stillings and owner Rags To Riches of PA.
Elsewhere on the card, Knight Lauxment snapped one of harness racing’s most enduring futility streaks when he broke his maiden at his 47th start.
The five-year-old gelding converted a pocket trip to victory for Hall, trainer Nathan Bresnahan and owner Matthew Miller.
On the back of strong form, having finished in the top four during five of his last six starts, Knight Lauxmont was sent off at 2-1, so that second victory may not prove as elusive.
Dave Palone joined Hall, Wilder and trainers Robert Barnard and Tim Twaddle with two wins each on the 13-race card.
