LOOK out Carnival of Miracles...Major Meister is heading your way.
Having his second start for trainer-of-the-moment Jason Grimson, Major Meister secured tonight's Cranbourne Cup in stylish fashion.
The Group One success comes just a week after Grimson and driver Cameron Hart captured the Inter Dominion Pacers' Final at Tabcorp Park Melton with I Cast No Shadow.
Speaking after the Major Meister's impressive victory, Hart warned potential rivals the son of Art Major will improve in coming months, especially considering the venue in which he will do the bulk of his racing - Club Menangle.
Major Meister's debut for Grimson saw him lead throughout in 1:52.9 over 1710 metres in Ballarat three weeks ago.
"He has been great in his two starts for Jason, but he doesn't handle these tracks all that well," Hart declared.
"He's been lucky to have been on fence as I don't think he would go as well out wide around the bends.
"When he gets to Menangle in the New Year we will see the best of him."
As for his latest win, Major Meister worked to the front during the middle stages before sprinting to an eight-and-a-half metre triumphant from Mach Dan.
After working in the 'death seat', Rock N Roll Doo battled on bravely to be a head away third.
"After he got to the front he settled nicely and was always travelling comfortably," Hart said. "He showed a good turn off foot down the back in 26.9 seconds and was able to run away from then near the line."
Rating 1:56.7 over 2555 metres, Major Meister took his record to 13 wins and 13 placings from 57 starts for earnings of $205,245.
